Since the last week update window 10 CreatorI have a problem doing that. When I click "connect", it does connect successfully and I can confirm that from the server log on the work network. But I can't access my work network shared folder anymore Now it says that the network can't be found and that connection has not been restaured I tried the exact same thing with my 2nd pc using Windows 7 and it is working just as usual.

VPN connecting but not the shared folder
I now want to remotely access a number of shares I have set up on a Windows 10 machine. I have no problems accessing the shares within my LAN, however I am unable to access them remotely through OpenVPN, unless I turn off Windows firewall on the Windows 10 machine that contains the shares.
Could someone shed some light on what the problem might be? Is this a massive security risk? Still unsure exactly why I'm having this problem.

Make sure you have no firewall rules on the server prevent access from your VPN subnets, Make sure there are no route or packet rules that may be blocking or re-routing your smb requests over vpn.
